Beaded Bag Care FAQ

Caring for Your Handmade Beaded Bag

Our beaded bags are handmade with 100% cotton fabric and front-side beading. Because they are handcrafted, they require gentle handling to maintain their beauty. Please review the care tips below before use.

Cleaning

  • Spot clean only using a soft, damp cloth and mild soap.
  • Gently dab the affected area — do not rub or scrub, especially near beaded sections.
  • Avoid applying cleaner directly to beads or embellishments.
  • Do not machine wash, dry clean, or hand wash by submerging in water.

Drying

  • If your bag gets wet, lay it flat on a clean, dry towel in a well-ventilated area.
  • Allow it to air dry completely before storing or using again.
  • Do not use a hair dryer, clothes dryer, or direct heat to speed up drying — this can loosen beads and warp the fabric.

What to Avoid

  • No immersing in water — submerging your bag can cause beads to loosen and fabric to shrink or warp.
  • No steaming — steam can weaken the thread securing the beads and damage the cotton fabric.
  • No ironing — especially over beaded areas, as heat can melt or crack beads.
  • Avoid exposure to prolonged sunlight, which can fade the fabric and weaken threads over time.
  • Keep away from perfume, hairspray, and other chemical sprays.

Storage

  • Store your bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Use a soft dust bag or wrap it in tissue paper to protect the beading.
  • Do not stack heavy items on top of your bag, as this can flatten or dislodge beads.
  • Store upright or laid flat — avoid folding or compressing the beaded area.

Preventing Bead Loss

  • Handle beaded sections gently — avoid snagging on rough surfaces, jewelry, or clothing.
  • Do not overstuff the bag, as excess tension can stress the beading thread.
  • Be mindful when placing and removing items from the bag to avoid catching beads.

Because each piece is handmade, slight variations in bead placement are a natural part of the handcrafted process and are not considered defects.
